Drug guidelines
guidelines from a local drug-busting agency.
The National Drug Commission's (NDC) plan -- Drug's Don't Work Here -- is designed to make workplaces safer and more productive by doing something about substance abuse -- the "hidden problem''.
The initiative states the NDC's belief which is that the best way to fight workplace substance abuse is through a five-part programme.
The move follows the success of a pilot programme in four of the Island's hotels -- the Sonesta Beach, the Belmont, the Harmony Club and Cambridge Beaches.
NDC deputy chairman Maxwell Roberts said: "We want to extend the power of the programme by releasing to every employer in Bermuda a straightforward explanation of what steps an organisation can take to ensure that it is free from substance abuse.'' NDC chairman Mansfield Brock said every employer with 10 or more employees had been written to and been asked to institute the programme. The booklet is also available on request.
