Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning said a 13- and 14-year-old were arrested for the Saturday morning incident.

Two 14-year-old boys were near Washington Mall in Hamilton, around 11.20 a.m., when the two offenders approached them and demanded money.

The pair began assaulting the boys when they refused to give them money, P.c.

Venning said, but the victims managed to escape. A description of the offenders was provided and the pair were later arrested.

Police inquiries are continuing.
