Monitor hosts fourth meeting
targets for the next three months.
General managers, civil servants and Ministers met in Boston, Massachusetts recently with Premier Jennifer Smith to discuss on-going initiatives aimed at revitalising the tourism product.
Hosted by management consultants Monitor, the delegates discussed efforts to encourage investment on the Island.
They also raised issues surrounding a "quality of work'' culture, which will bid to make life easier for staff balancing work and family life.
Also included in the mini-conference was training and development, together with productivity. Many of the issues will be evaluated again at a tourism summit planned for the Spring.
In attendance at the Boston meeting were Tourism Minister David Allen, Home Affairs Minister Paula Cox, Finance Minister Eugene Cox and Tourism Board chairman Delaey Robinson.
Hotel representatives included new Elbow Beach general manager Hartmunt Zunk, Southampton Princess boss Norman Mastalir, president of Sonesta Hotels Stephanie Sonnabend, and Bermuda Hotel Association president Muriel Richardson.
A statement said: "All members enthusiastically reaffirmed their commitment to the value and importance of Bermuda as a tourism product, and left the meeting dedicated to continuing the very positive progress made so far.''
