Man went on theft spree

Alexander Christopher, 30, of Battery Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the thefts which took place at various Hamilton stores between last October and February.

Prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said that on October 7 Christopher stole a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and Polo cap from A.S. Cooper & Son Ltd.
He then shoplifted a Goretex jacket from the Upstairs Golf & Tennis Shop on November 8, a bottle of Scotch from the Shopping Centre on January 24, and an Oarsman jacket from Smugglers Reef on January 29.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis sentenced him to three months in prison suspended for 12 months.
