At the end of the second day at the CARIFTA Games in Barbados, Bermuda had captured two gold medals and two bronze.

Stephen Woodley got Bermuda off to an impressive start on Saturday when he won a gold in the boys' under-20 high jump, reportedly with an effort close to seven feet while Mike Donawa got the other gold in the 1,500 metres in the boys' under-17 division -- a race he is said to have won convincingly by finishing more than 30 metres ahead of the second-place finisher.

Donawa is again expected to do well in the open 5,000 metres today.

Bronze medals were won by Vernae Ingham in the girls' under-17 800 metres and Aaron Bean in the boys' under-20 long jump.

Few details were available of Bermuda's performance. The meet concludes today with the full squad scheduled to return home tomorrow night.
