The BSX index now sits mid-way between its high for the past 52 weeks of 1,733.59 and its low during the period of 896.13.
A total of 134,913 local shares with a value of $2.4 million changed hands during the week, with Bank of Bermuda (37,185 shares traded), Belco Holdings Ltd. (28.057), Bermuda Commercial Bank (19,000) and BF&M Ltd. (15,500) the most heavily-traded.
The price of six securities changed on the week. Five gained ground and one retreated. Winners were: Bank of Bermuda, up $1.50 to close at $29.50; Devonshire Industries Ltd., up 50 cents to close at $8.00; BF&M 9 percent convertible cumulative redeemable preference shares, up 25 cents to close the week at $9.50; Belco, up 75 cents to close at $19.75; and KeyTech Ltd., up 50 cents to close at $30.00.
The week's only loser, BF&M ordinary shares, closed down 50 cents at $7.00.
