Jackson event puts Bermuda in world spotlight
Jackson Celebrity Golf Classic tees off this week.
And the extra publicity should give the Island's tourism industry a huge boost.
Some 40 celebrities from the world of television and film are expected to take part in the event, which starts on Wednesday. A television audience of millions is expected to watch highlights of the event and print journalists from around the world will also be covering the event for numerous publications.
Major syndicated US television show Entertainment Tonight, which regularly attracts an audience of ten million, will be screening part of the tournament along with Fox TV Sports, which will be presenting a special feature on Mr.
Jackson.
The Wall Street Journal, Golf Magazine and various other publications are also planning to carry articles on the event.
Tournament promoter Tim Murdoch said: "All of these media serve exactly the affluent, discriminating traveller and business markets that Bermuda tourism is working so hard to attract to the Island.
