The club will be formally dissolved by its members at a meeting on Tuesday, president Don MacPherson said yesterday.

"There's no bones about it. They want the club dissolved," Mr. MacPherson said.

The club's facilities were purchased by Montessori Academy in January for $3.5 million.

But Mr. MacPherson, without elaborating, said there were a number of options regarding the disposal of assets. He did not expect the proceedings to be contentious.

A small minority of members, fought hard to stave off the extinction of the 74-year-old club, but a steady decrease in membership and a lack of manpower to run its affairs proved too powerful.
