BFA challengers yet to declare
Football Association it remains to be seen who will officially emerge as a challenger to current president Neville Tyrrell who has already announced his candidacy.
Mark Trott, the person many are tipping to run against Tyrrell, held his cards close to his chest yesterday, refusing comment on the matter altogether.
However there still appears to be activity, with meetings being held between various affiliate clubs working towards presenting one or more challengers to the standing president.
One club executive, who requested anonymity, expressed the need for change in the make-up of the administration, adding that the time had come for the current president to be challenged at the forthcoming annual general meeting expected to take place at the end of next month.
"Personally I feel a change is needed...no disrespect to Mr. Tyrrell, because one time I supported him. But it's time to pass the baton on to somebody with fresher ideas, whether he is younger or older,'' said the long-serving executive.
"Actually speaking, the support out there is not for any individual, but I feel that football is in a need of a change and we are looking into what steps can be taken at this time to do it.'' There is no indication that well-known, long-time and hard-working executive Elroy Ratteray will be challenged for his post as second vice president.
