Boivin appointed to head BCB subidiary
International Corporate Management of Bermuda Ltd. (ICMOB), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Bermuda Commercial Bank (BCB). BCB and ICMOB managing director, Peter Roberts, said: "Mr. Boivin is an asset to the bank. We welcome his impressive experience in many areas of the financial services industry. But we welcome him also for his energy, enthusiasm and leadership qualities.'' Called to the bar in 1987, Mr. Boivin has worked as legal counsel to the Royal Bank of Canada and as legal counsel to the Canadian Payments Association.
Earlier, he was posted to legal and public relations assignments in several branches of the Canadian government and legal firms in various North American locations.
Mr. Roberts added: "Georges Boivin has recent experience in the drafting of regulations and rules on many aspects of banking.
"He has been responsible for coordination of the compliance programme of the Canadian Payments Association and has lectured on banking law at the University of Ottawa.
"This background ideally suits Georges to participation in managing the evolution of BCB and its subsidiary ICMOB into a high integrity, fee-driven, low risk operation, focused on the Bermuda marketplace.'' ICMOB provides accounting, nominee, corporate secretarial, registrar and transfer agency services to businesses here and abroad.
