They have already attended to two boats which broke free under the pressure of gale force winds.

"A lot of boats are floating low because of the rain and there is a danger of these boats breaking free and floating away with the wind,'' a Police spokesman said. Boat owners should make sure their vessels are bailed out. And when the weather clears, they should check their moorings.
