Disappointed Goater returns to Rotherham
Rotherham after a bungle with his work permit prevented a longer stay at First Division Notts County.
Goater had been sent on what was supposed to be a month's loan period from Rotherham two weeks ago. However, stipulations in the striker's work permit preventing him taking up employment outside the Yorkshire club were identified by the Professional Football Association thus he was ordered back to Rotherham after playing just one match for County.
While a disappointed Goater could take solace in having started in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Fulham and being named man-of-the-match, nevertheless he said that he would prefer to have remained at County at least a bit longer.
"I would have liked to have seen what my chances were,'' Goater said. "I'm always seeking to get to a higher level and improve myself and my game.'' Rotherham are away to Barnet tomorrow and Goater is likely to again start up front, where he has replaced Ian Helliwell.
