TV Times, the Island's first cable television guide, will no longer be published after the November issue.

Bermuda Marketing described the decision to close the publication as a "rationalisation of product lines''.

No staff have been laid off as a result, but transferred to Bermuda. Publisher Mr. Ian Coles said: "Internal resources are being redirected behind the enormous growth of Bermuda magazine''.

The magazine, which costs $3.95 per copy, has a controlled circulation of more than 40,000 copies. An average of 2,000 per issue are sold to Bermuda residents and plans are afoot to broaden its local distribution.

"Circulation of TV Times had dipped below the 5,000 mark which made it less attractive to advertisers and therefore considerably less viable,'' said Mr.

Coles.

"We decided that our time, money and talent would be better used in more promising directions,'' he said.

Bermuda Marketing publishes Homes & Gardens, Island Property News, Parenting, and one-year-old publications New Residents Guide, and TV & Entertainment Guide, circulated in local hotels.
