Saturday for an Art Festival.

And organisers -- the Bank of Butterfield and Masterworks Foundation -- have their fingers crossed that Premier Jennifer Smith will take some time out to show some of her artwork.

Artists Frank Dublin, William Gringley, E. Michael Jones, Jill Ramos Raine and Mae Webb are among those lined up to participate. The festival will be held on Ordinance Island with jewellers, potters, and other crafts people on hand to display their handiwork.

Special Easter items are expected to be on sale as all the artisans celebrate Community Art Day, part of the "Artist in the Park'' series.

Community Art days have been created to encourage the public create works of art. A culmination of the Community Art Days will take place on May 16, when the 1999 Grand Art Festival by the Sea gets underway.

All are invited to enter their pieces for the Front Street competition.

Application forms are available from the Bank of Butterfield and all submissions must be in by April 30.

All proceeds from the Art Competition and the Art Festival will be contributed to the Masterworks Foundation Visual Arts Scholarship.
