Cross-country gets underway
Spittal Pond, and for the first time will incorporate the seniors.
Shanay Scott will be the only junior attempting to defend her age group title, as the other junior champions from last year, Flora Duffy, Tyler Abbott, Shardae Whitter, Tiffany Eatherley and Jonathan Ball all move up into an older age group.
Last year's overall champion boy, Tyler Butterfield, now moves up to compete against the seniors and he will be measuring his performances against the best runners on the Island.
All of this year's senior winners will be new Minute Maid champions. The Spittal Pond layout provides the men with a challenging 6.8 mile course and the women approximately 4.2 miles.
The juniors will start at 9 a.m. with both the 10 and under and 12 and under age groups running a distance of 1.6 miles. The under-15s will compete over a 2.9 mile course.
Trophies will be awarded based upon each competitor's three best performances in the five race series. The Schools Trophy will be presented to the primary, middle or senior school fielding the most entrants in the series.
