In the United States millions of American parents yesterday gave their daughters an inside view of the working life.

Take Our Daughters to Work Day saw girls -- aged nine and up -- from Florida to Alaska spend the day on the job alongside their mothers or fathers.

American Airlines local manager Carol DeCouto said, "This helps girls with their self-esteem and helps them understand their mother's role in the workplace.''
