Augusta -- has been moved from intensive care into a general ward.

But doctors at the Medical College of Georgia remain concerned about his sight, a relative told The Royal Gazette last night.

It was uncertain whether he would regain full vision in both his eyes, she added.

"He will need an operation. We are just hoping his eye problems are only temporary.'' The relative ruled out any hope of the Augusta College student returning to Bermuda for Christmas.

Fubler was one of the three victims on November 13 of Mr. Mark Lorenzo Squires.

Also shot was Fubler's friend, Ms Sheila Kitchens, who has been paralysed and her 12-year-old brother, George.

The shooting occurred at Ms Kitchens' home in Pheasant Drive, Richmond County, Augusta.

It is understood that Mr. Squires remains at large despite an intensive Police manhunt.
