A Police spokeswoman said the Police received anonymous calls from members of the public who said they heard a number of gunshots in the vicinity of St.

Monica's and Glebe Roads.

One anonymous call suggested that someone had been critically injured but Police and ambulance attended the area and found no one. No-one attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for the alleged injuries.

It is the second report of gunshots heard in the area in the last week.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamilton Police Station at 295-0011 or the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-623-8477.
