The three month delay in aid follows a mix-up in which the Bahamas appeared to have ignored Bermuda's offer of help. But the Bahamian Government mistakenly thought Bermuda's leaders had already helped by sending Bermuda Electric Light Company linemen.

Once the Bahamas understood Belco was private, they asked for carpenters, said Works Minister the Hon. Clarence Terceira yesterday.
