Students enjoy visit to Ohio
St. Mary's School in Hyde Park, Ohio as part of an exchange programme between the schools.
During the trip, which took place from November 26 to December 12, the students visited Krohn Conservatory, the Festival of Lights (at the zoo), the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum, the Omnimax Theatre, and City Hall in downtown Cincinnati.
While at city hall, the students tried out the city manager's chair, met Cincinnati Mayor Roxanne Quallis and were introduced as special guests from Bermuda at the regular council meeting.
The children attended daily classes at St. Mary's and were able to experience things that were not part of their regular school life such as eating in a school cafeteria, playing tether ball and attending a church service, which is held weekly for the student body.
Teacher Anne Hines, who acted as the chaperone, said the exchange will be completed when St. Mary's students visit Bermuda next year.
