Ariel Sands, on South Shore, applied recently to build the centre which will involve converting a bar area beside the beach.

According to the plans it will be a relatively small centre, although there is no indication about how many people it will hold.

The application was lodged in the last week and will not be considered by the Development Application Board until next year.
