Jermaine Willington Pearman attacked his 27-year-old victim after following her bike home along Harbour Road after a night in Hamilton last September.

He threw her against a wall, punched her face and sexually assaulted her after forcing her off her bike.

Pearman, from Pembroke, was jailed by Magistrate Edward King on Wednesday.

The court heard the 25-year-old first approached the woman as she was about to leave Hamilton.

He only stopped his sex attack when the woman said she lived alone and would take him to her apartment.

But Pearman, represented by Mark Pettingill, claimed he helped the woman when she "decked out'' on her bike when he was confronted by her boyfriend at the apartment.
