Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association as part of a three-year $30,000 contribution to local tennis.

"The XL Foundation has been tremendously supportive of our aims and we sincerely appreciate their generosity.'' said David Lambert, president of the BLTA.

Lambert said the funds would be used to develop some of Bermuda's rising tennis stars, offering them opportunities to participate in competitions abroad, and to help maintain the various junior programmes which the BLTA organise.

"We currently have a team of five Bermudian youngsters competing in the Head Georgia State Junior Championships this week and we are confident they will learn extensively from this experience both in terms of competitive play and training preparation,'' added Lambert.

While in Georgia, the juniors are training at the renowned Southern Elite Tennis Academy, and in August, Bermuda's Davis Cup member James Collieson will attend the Panama ITF Training facility followed by a brief tour on the satellite circuit.
