Minister of Health and Family Services Nelson Bascome and Education Minister Milton Scott presented certificates to the fathers who completed the Effective Parenting Training Course.

The course focussed on the role of fathers in the lives of their children and was designed by two Government Departments -- the Happy Valley Child Care Centre and the Child Development Project.

The Happy Valley Child Care Centre organised a series of three sessions for fathers of children attending the Centre and instruction was provided by specialists from the Child Development Project.

The fathers were taught how to respond to typical issues that arise with their children, in particular, those aged between one and four years of age.

The course also looked at preventing problems, building bonds and establishing routines and child safety.
