Special Olympians fly out
in Charlotte, North Carolina.
They will be competing at tennis today and tomorrow in the Fall Games of North Carolina Special Olympics. And one athlete will also be playing golf.
The Bermuda Special Olympics (BSO) team includes: Mr. Dekia Brangman, Mr.
Dwayne Bulford, Ms Lynn Coad, Ms Chrystal Jones, Mr. Gary Lambert and Mr.
Duvaughn Signor.
With them will be coach Mrs. Mary Johnson, and BSO national director Mrs. Ceci Bernard-Lambert.
BSO were invited to take part at the beginning of September.
Special Olympics International's regional director for the Caribbean Ms Katherine Clark made the offer during a visit to Bermuda. She had been impressed with the Bermudian athletes' abilities.
Bermuda is the only country outside the United States which has been invited to participate.
BSO is hoping to return the favour by having North Carolina compete here next year.
