Vasco pay for missing cards
Bermuda Football Association Appeals Committee deducted them two points from their December 13 match against Prospect after it was determined that they had fielded two ineligible players.
The players in question, Scott Morton and goalkeeper Gerald Sims, were listed on the team sheet but did not have their player cards present as required by BFA rules.
It was only after telephone consultation between the referee and BFA president Charlie Marshall that the duo were allowed to play, however Prospect coach Vance Brown made it clear that his side would be doing so under protest.
When informed of the favourable decision, Brown in his second year at the helm of Prospect was understandably upbeat.
"Justice was done,'' he said. "They played illegal players and if you don't follow the rules you have to suffer the consequences.'' Not nearly as successful in their appeal were St. George's as they lost their appeal against a $300 fine and loss of points for their November 29 game against Hamilton Parish, which was abandoned after a spectator hit linesman Gladwin Lodge in the head with a bottle.
