Mugger robs woman of $5,000
$5,000.
The 36-year-old was pounced on near the railway trail in Camp Hill Road, Warwick.
She was grabbed and punched, before the man wrestled away the cash.
Police say the attacker may have threatened to use a gun -- although no weapon was "produced''.
"The victim was extremely shaken by the ordeal,'' said Police spokesman P.c.
Gary Venning.
He added, however, she escaped with minor injuries.
The incident occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. yesterday.
Police say the woman was carrying the cash "for legitimate reasons'', although they declined to comment further.
Said P.c. Venning: "It is possible the threat of a gun may have been made.
But no gun was produced.'' He added: "The incident is under investigation by western CID officers.'' Anyone with information should ring Det. Sgt. Steve Shaw on 234-1010.
