Valerie M. Smith of Parsons Road admitted being drunk and incapable of taking care of herself on Wednesday evening. She also pleaded guilty to using offensive words.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said that at 5.20 p.m. on Police were on Gymnasium Road and saw Smith laying on the grass.

"There were several attempts to move her along,'' said Insp. Duffy "Police noticed that her breath smelled of liquor and she was unable to stand. When they asked her to move, Smith swore at them. She was arrested for her own safety.'' Insp. Duffy said Smith had several previous convictions for using offensive words and being drunk and incapable.

The Wor. John Judge told Smith: "You had better get a grip on yourself because if this doesn't stop, you're going to end up in prison.'' Mr. Judge fined Smith $150 for being drunk and incapable and $50 for using offensive words.
