Renowned journalist Dr. Chuck Stone will draw on his extensive experience in speaking, teaching and writing about race relations in America when he speaks at a special breakfast meeting today.

The session is being hosted by the Community for Unity and Racial Equality (CURE) and a spokesman said Dr. Stone would touch on the need for change through an analysis of the destructive forces of discrimination.

Dr. Stone is also expected to present solutions that are viable in Bermuda.

Dr. Stone has written three books and was the founding president of the National Association of Black Journalists which awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992.

CURE will also sponsor a follow up event in the form of a workshop in race and relations on October 18 and 19.

The workshop will present a historical overview of race relations in Bermuda and provide opportunities for discussion on issues facing our community.
