SHED POUNDS FOR A GOOD CAUSE FNR CLB JAL Shed pounds for a good cause Lose weight for money. This is the idea behind Prison Fellowship's latest fundraiser.
Operating entirely on private donations, the local chapter of Prison Fellowship is out drumming up support for its latest event -- a Slimathon.
Participants will secure sponsors who will pay them to lose pounds, or kilos.
The programme starts at 9 a.m. on May 1 with a weigh-in at various locations across the Island. It ends two weeks later on May 15 with a weigh-out.
All participants will be given a leaflet with guidelines on healthy eating.
Monies raised in the Slimathon will finance Prison Fellowship's Back to School Programme. The initiative helps students who have an incarcerated parent, with their school supplies.
