Princess-to-Princess road race.

Last year, the popular 7-2-mile run from the Hamilton Princess to its sister hotel in Southampton attracted a record field of 222 runners.

The race's timing, one week before International Race Weekend, means it is attractive as a warm-up event for many and is traditionally useful as a form guide.

The runaway favourite, if he enters, will be defending champion Kavin Smith, who last year won in a time of 37 minutes, 49 seconds.

Anna Eatherley won the women's category last year, finishing in 44:46, and will be strongly fancied to win again.

The record for the challenging course, which ends with a steep climb up to the Southampton Princess, is 36:08, set in 1989 by David Swanston, while the record time for a Bermudian is 37:32, set by Smith the same year.

All finishers will receive mugs printed in the black-and-gold colours of Fairmont, owners of the two hotels, and there are prizes for class winners as well as draw prizes.

Entry forms are available at Sportseller, Winner's Edge and the Pro Shop and entries submitted before 5 p.m. today cost $15. Late entries cost $20.
