Classic CD to hit airwaves Whoever said that rugby was not a cultured sport is set to be kicked into touch.
For, in addition to top games, this year's World Rugby Classic will feature food, music, art and fashion.
World Rugby Classic organiser John Kane said the event was taking a record approach to the tournament by launching their own compact disc.
`Part of the Classic', was recorded in Dublin, Ireland, by the Irish party band, The Heartbeats.
The CD features the group singing their rendition of beloved, rugby-type songs like American Pie and Johnny B. Goode.
And a rewrite of `Part of the Union' -- the 1972 hit by British band The Strawbs -- appears as the title song on the CD. The tune, now entitled `Part of the Classic', tells the story of Bermuda's annual rugby tournament.
The Heartbeats will also perform at several venues during the week-long tournament.
Artist and keen rugby player Jonah Jones will add some artistic flair to this year's Classic.
Mr. Kane said some of the artist's paintings will be on display at the Classic and one of his masterpieces will grace the cover of this year's programmes.
And for those who want to sport the latest in rugby attire, the well-known line of Classic apparel will be on sale at the two World Rugby Classic Shops located on opposite sides of the field.
