Songwriter Mr. Richard Bassett said that after attending a seminar at the Hamilton Princess in October, several local songwriters indicated that they would like to see an association started.

Therefore, a meeting will be held on Monday to discuss the formation of the association.

Mr. Bassett said: "We are appealing to all songwriters to attend the meeting.

"There are a small percentage of people out there writing songs hoping to place a song with an artist and there are writers/performers who are hoping to get a recording contract writing their own material. We are asking all of them to attend.'' The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Clearview suites and Villas conference room in Hamilton Parish.
