It's at the double for Bermuda Press Ltd.
Bermuda Press Ltd has announced it is installing a new printing press -- doubling the amount of high-quality glossy colour brochures and magazines the press can print.
Bermuda Press Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Bermuda Press Holdings which owns The Royal Gazette , invited Premier Jennifer Smith to officially begin production on the new press at the company offices on Addendum Lane, Pembroke.
There was also an open house for guests, clients and prospective clients to look at the press.
The press is a Heidelberg Speedmaster 74, which the company claims will allow it to print higher quality work at a lower cost.
The size of what can be printed on the Island has been increased with the new press capable of producing material up to 20.5 inches by 29.5 inches.
"To people who know about printing, Heidelberg is synonymous with quality,'' said Paget Wharton, General Manager of Bermuda Press.
"The Speedmaster 74 is the most sophisticated press in its class. It automates the time-consuming elements of the printing process, so we can concentrate on quality.'' He added that the new machine would give the company's customers better, faster and cheaper printing so that "they don't have to leave the Island to get quality printing.''
