Riders head for Caribbean
Bay, Jamaica, where they will compete in the Caribbean Area Show Jumping Competition's final round for the year 2000.
Tiffany Thorne and Christy Holder, both 15-years-old, will fly the Bermuda flag against riders from Guadeloupe, Barbados, Antigua, Trinidad and the hosts in the sixth round of the competition.
All competitors will ride borrowed horses in the show jumping event, one which operates on a round robin basis, meaning that all the riders get to ride the same horses over the two days of competition.
Presently Guadeloupe sit perched at the top of the standings, followed by Jamaica and Antigua, who are locked in a tie for second, with Barbados fourth, Bermuda fifth and Trinidad bringing up the rear.
Thorne and Holder were selected based on past performances at home, as well as during previous rounds of the competition, with Thorne having travelled to both Guadeloupe and Trinidad, while Holder's previous overseas venture took in Guadeloupe.
