stalked his ex-girfriend for almost two years.

Carlos Astwood, of Hamilton Parish, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in Magistrates' Court to stalking Sandra Ruth between February 4, 1998 and October 2, 1999. Astwood also denied a charge that with intention to cause alarm, he threatened to harm Ms Ruth's reputation between those dates.

He also pleaded not guilty to using offensive words. Astwood will be tried on July 6. Senior Magistrate Will Francis released him on $500 bail.

When he entered his plea, Astwood said "I plead not guilty with a comment'' which Mr. Francis said was not necessary.
