The 27-year-old asked Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis to raise his voice as he read the charges. "Can you speak up because I was basically beaten by Police,'' he said, gesturing to his ears.
He said he wanted to lodge an official complaint.
Mr. Francis said the court would eventually decide what happened.
The Derwent Lane, Devonshire resident was advised to get a lawyer and released on $500 bail. His trial was set down for April 24.
