Bermuda-born poet on short list for Irish award

A first collection of poetry from Bermuda-born Paul Maddern has made the short list for Ireland’s Eithne and Rupert Strong Awards.The Irish-based awards go to Irish-domiciled authors writing in either the Irish or English languages.The winner takes €25,000 at the March 27 Poetry Now festival in Dun Loaghaire.Mr Maddern’s ‘The Beachcomber’s Report’ is also excerpted in volume two of the ‘Bermudian Anthology of Poetry’, released this week.The author now lives in County Down, Northern Ireland.Useful websites: www.poetrynow.ie/strong.html
