Emerald honour for local lawyer

Bermudian lawyer Victoria Pearman is to receive an Emerald Award from the Woman of Great Esteem (WGE) organisation during its 11th anniversary celebrations on March 31.

The ‘Emerald Night in Brooklyn’ gala will be held in Brooklyn Museum’s Iris and B. Gerald Cantor auditorium.

Organisers describe the Emerald Award as “an honour to women who, like the emerald, are precious gemstones which improve relationships and meditation, strengthen clairvoyance and psychic abilities and aid in mental illness”.

It recognises the increasing contributions of women who have excelled beyond normal expectations in a multi-cultural society.

Ms Pearman (pictured) is one of nine Emerald Award recipients from various fields being similarly honoured. The keynote speaker will be Brooklyn Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (Democrat-New York), while veteran actor Keith David serves as the event’s honorary chairperson.
