Bermuda cricket plummeted to new depths on the world stage today with the women's and under 19 national teams going down heavily in South Africa and Malaysia.

In South Africa, Bermuda's women's team suffered a humiliating ten-wicket drubbing at the expense of their hosts who took only four balls to knock of the Islander's meager 13.

Eight of the Island's batsmen failed to get off the mark, with only skipper Linda Mienzer (one), Rickelle Smith (one) and Mary-Ellen Jackson (one) troubling the scorers.

Despite the embarrassing loss, skipper Mienzer, commented: "I am extremely proud and our team is very proud to be here."

Meanwhile, Bermuda's Under 19 went down by 178 runs to Bangladesh in Malaysia in their opening Group B Under 19 World Cup clash.

Scores: Bangladesh 260; Bermuda 82.

Chasing 261 for victory, Bermuda came up well short of their winning objective with only skipper Rodney Trott (20) and middle order bat Jordan DeSilva managing double figures.

Trott and opener Chris Douglas produced 34 runs for the sixth, wicket, the Islander's biggest stand of the innings, followed by a 16 run, first-wicket partnership between Douglas and fellow opener Terryn Fray (one).

Seven of Bermuda's wickets fell for 32 runs while there also 32 runs in extras.

Earlier, Malachi Jones led Bermuda's attack by claiming two for 64.

Bermuda take on Test nation England tomorrow.
