Bermuda-based Centre Re, has announced the following new management appointments: Mr. Brian A. Hughes has become Senior Vice President/Actuarial. Mr. Hughes began his insurance career in 1980 at The Home Reinsurance Corporation in 1987 where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary, whose responsibilities included the pricing and reserving of all reinsurance business.

Ms Adrienne W. Reid has been appointed Senior Vice President/Underwriting.

Ms Reid previously worked at General Reinsurance Corporation, where she most recently held the position of Vice President and Facultative Account Executive, managing the company's New York Casualty Programme business.

Before this, she was General Re's Second Vice President/Assistant Branch Manager and Vice President/Individual Risk Manager.

Prior to joining General Re, she worked for General Star Management, a subsidiary of General Re, and The Chubb group of companies.

Ms Emily Canelo has become Vice President/Contracts. Ms Canelo previously managed the ten-person contract department at North American Reinsurance Corporation.

She began her reinsurance career in 1983 at Guy Carpenter & Co. as an attorney in the law department and, in 1990, became manager of the contract division.

Mr. David Cash , Mr. Frederick J. Pagnani, Jr. and Mr. Nigel Shepherd have all been appointed Assistant Vice President, with the first two in underwriting and the latter in claims.

Mr. Cash worked as an actuarial consultant for Tillinghast and Coopers & Lybrand before joining ZRC.

Mr. Pagnani, Jr. was previously employed by General Reinsurance Company in New York where he served as Facultative Programme Account Executive and Casualty Facultative Individual Risk Underwriter.

He began his insurance career at Hermitage Insurance Company in White Plains, New York, serving as Assistant Vice President/Underwriting before becoming Assistant to Comptroller.

Mr. Shepherd joined ZRC from NAC Reinsurance Corporation where he was Claims Consultant and Claims Officer before being named Assistant Vice President and Casualty Unit Manager.

Before joining NAC Re, he worked for AIG as a Litigation Specialist and at Allstate Insurance Company as an Associate Claims Representative.

ZRC has also announced that P. Britt Newhouse has resigned from the company as Senior Vice President/Business Development.

ZRC is the largest brokered market reinsurer in the United States and is the principle underwriting affiliate of the Zurich Insurance Company and Centre Re in the North American market for brokered traditional property and casualty reinsurance.
