Seadrill boosted by $4.1bn contracts

OSLO (Bloomberg) - Seadrill Ltd., the Norwegian oil-rig company set up by billionaire John Fredriksen, rose as much as 4.1 percent in Oslo trading after the company won contracts worth $4.1 billion for three of its rigs in Brazil.
Seadrill rose as much as 5.75 kroner, or 4.1 percent, to 146.75 kroner, the biggest gain since February 28. It traded at 145 kroner as of 11.31 a.m. in Oslo.
Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro SA, also known as Petrobras, awarded Seadrill contracts for three semi-submersible rigs to operate offshore Brazil. The orders will increase the company's backlog to more than $12 billion, up from $7.8 billion at the end of last year, Seadrill CEO Kjell Jacobsen said yesterday in a statement.
