The woman behind the walkabout

Kate Berry joined the National Trust about a year ago in her role as the Community and Events Manager. Her main responsibilities are fund raising, writing and creating the Trust’s newsletter, the website and organising events..

As a result of her retail business experience along with a Masters Degree in business, Mrs. Berry brings lots of talent and experience to her job.

She speaks highly of the Trust and its very meaningful existence in Bermuda.

“I have always been a believer in what the Trust does and I passionately believe in my work for the Trust,” she said.

“We are here to preserve. When we do something successful that reaches out to Bermuda and to people that makes me very proud to be a part of the Trust.”

Last year’s National Trust Walk in St. George’s drew at least 2,000 people and the event went very well, according to Mrs. Berry.

In her words: “It is a lovely and festive way to start the events of Christmas and celebrate in the richness of our World Heritage Site.

“It is a wonderful and informative event which focuses on the past and the present and very nice to share with family and friends.”
