Rejuvenated marksman Aljame Zuill stunned North Village with a late double to claim a first home victory for Devonshire Colts this season.

Zuill headed home his second of the game in the final minute at Police Field to complete Colts' comeback in a match that saw both teams reduced to ten-men before half-time.

Village had taken the lead through the industrious Dwyia Blyden midway through the first-half before Colts' Terry Foote received his marching orders for a late challenge in the 45th minute.

But before they could make their advantage count Village's Keith Jennings was dismissed just seconds later for his second bookable offence when he kicked the ball away after Colts were awarded a free-kick.

After the break, Colts switched from their normally fluent passing game to bombarding Village's box with a barrage of long-balls during a frantic half, devoid of flair or finesse.

Both Blyden and Hollis went close to extending Village's lead but were denied by 'keeper Kevin Beank, while Zuill poked against the post after Jason Williams had parried Phil Anderson's powerful drive from the edge of the area.

Village, who were without inspirational skipper Ralph Bean and schemer Sammy DeGraff, looked decidedly shaky in defence with Colts' attacking menace a constant threat.

Zuill levelled in the 84th minute when the home side sprang a counter-attack after Jemeiko Jennings had squandered a great opportunity to increase Village's lead, before Colts' captain headed past Jason Williams at the death.

"The match was not about the performance it was about the result," said Colts' coach Jones. "We knew Village struggled against the high ball and that was our method of attack.

"This victory should really motivate the players for the remainder of the season and it was vital we finally won our first home game."
