It proved to be a big day for share trading on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday as a total of 20,655 shares worth $313,824.60 changed hands throughout the day.

Despite all of the activity, the Index remained unchanged at 4,909.92 points, some way off its high of 5,382.06.

KeyTech Ltd. were the biggest traders, with 19,842 shares transacted, but its share price held firm at $15, while BF&M Ltd. traded 800 shares, again with the share value staying constant at $20.

Butterfield Bank also saw 13 shares change hands as its share price closed the same at $18.25.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, did not have the best of starts to 2008, sliding down 0.03 percent to finish on 1,210.73.
