BSX inches upwards

BF&M reached a 52-week high share price of $20 yesterday, helping to edge the Bermuda Stock Exchange upwards.

The insurer regained all the ground it lost on Thursday and more, as it climbed 50 cents (2.6 percent) on the trading of 2,000 shares.

BF&M was the only mover on the local market, as the Royal Gazette / BSX Index rose by 6.63 points to close at 5,006.72, a rise of 0.13 percent.

The Argus Group saw the heaviest trading of the day as 7,535 of its shares changed hands, leaving the insurer and pension provider unchanged on $14.90, just 10 cents shy of its year high.

Butterfield Bank remained unchanged at $19.10 after 488 of its shares were sold.
