Breaking News: Primary school PTAs postpone tomorrow's march on Cabinet
Tomorrow’s march on Cabinet by the parent teacher associations (PTA) of five primary schools thought to be facing the axe has been postponed.
A statement issued this afternoon said the decision came after a successful meeting with the Ministry of Education and Ministry representatives.
East End, Prospect, Gilbert Institute, Heron Bay and Dalton E. Tucker primary schools had all been named for possible closure. Education Minister El James has insisted no such decision has been made.
“The executives are satisfied with the preliminary discussions and the assurance that we will have an opportunity to address our concerns, proposals and recommendations as a part of the entire school reform process,” read the statement.
“The Ministry representatives have agreed to attend our PTA meetings to talk directly with the parents. We encourage all parents to attend the meetings.”
