Exhibition under way at Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard

THE Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard raised the curtain this past week on its Members' New Year Exhibition featuring a variety of artwork by its members.

The show, which was juried, features a mixture of mediums, including watercolour, oil and acrylic paintings from established artists such as Kok Wan Lee, Molly Godet, Christopher Marson, Chris Grimes, as well as Vaughan and Amy Evans.

The exhibition also features work by new artists such as Robbie Powell and Emily Tolson.

"This show had a great opening on Sunday and is already proving to be very successful," Kym Bailey, curator of the Arts Centre, said.

"We hope as many people as possible make a trip out to Dockyard to come and visit us and browse all the interesting work on display."

The charitable organisation was established in 1984 to offer a forum for local contemporary artists. Over the years, the Arts Centre began offering workshops covering a wide variety of subject matter ranging from watercolour to palette knife painting, silk screen printing to gilding.

The show continues through to March 6 and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 234-2809.
