Bermuda Union of Teachers today called for the immediate resignation or removal of Philip Butterfield, chairman of the interim executive board on education.
BUT president Keisha Douglas said comments made by Mr. Butterfield on Tuesday about teachers and BUT general secretary Mike Charles, displayed a “clear disrespect for teachers and the important role they play in our children's lives”.
Mr. Butterfield’s comments explained how and why teachers have been excluded from the reform process, she said adding: “They also demonstrate an archaic top-down intimidation approach to managing.”
