Breaking News: Smith leaps into long jump finals

Bermuda long jumper Tyrone Smith has qualified for tomorrow’s final of the men’s long jump at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
Smith finished fifth in today’s qualification round with a leap of 7.49 metres.
In heat 7 of the men’s 50m freestyle today, Roy Allan Burch came fifth with a time of 23.35 seconds, while team-mate Nick Thomson finished one place behind in 24.22.
Burch will now compete in the semi-finals later today.
Yesterday saw Kiera Aitken place fifth in the women’s 100m backstroke semi-final with a time of 30.06. She missed out on making the finals.
Sprinter Tre Houston will be in action in the men’s 200m heats tomorrow.
